Ecko Unltd. Hat Collection
The task was to develop a collection of Ecko hats for a young, hip and trendy market. By combining multiple appliqués, printing and sewing techniques, we created a unique line that worked throughout a variety of styles. The sophisticated layering system allows each hat to have its own voice and style, unique to the collection. The Ecko line consists of baseball caps, bucket hats and various visors.
Process
The process for this project was so thorough because there were so many different styles of hats to consider. I used a combination of sketching, photocopying and collage to achieve the desired results then worked backwards to render the flats in Illustrator. Sifting through the library of graphics and trim was time consuming but fun. Marc Ecko was eager to collaborate as I showed my work several times throughout the process.
