Super Bowl LIII Trophy Collection
The Trophy Collection is offered exclusively by the National Football League. These items are worn by players on field directly after the game then sold at retail. The highly visible exposure makes the line more desirable to the collecting and casual consumer.
Since 2012, the NFL has worked to build relationships with the licensees that help to create each product that makes up the Trophy Collection. As the experts on their respective products, we continued to push them to provide us with consumer insight, as well as the latest materials and techniques available to make each collection more innovative than the last.
Process
The Super Bowl Trophy Collection is divided up into two groups: Conference and Super Bowl. Each is dependent on the other for the success of the collection as a whole. The winners of each conference are determined before the Super Bowl is played so each design has to be compelling and unique enough that when strategically released into market fans will want to buy each piece of the collection.
For each grouping we designed custom type, patterns, and graphics for shirts and hats. And then for Super Bowl specifically, we designed a custom towel with specific achievements of the competing teams. The vector art shows the development of each design as specific teams become contenders for the championship.

Presentation
Here’s the presentation for the chosen direction for Super Bowl LIII Trophy collection. The final presentation included was the shown to internal clients and management. Then shared with our vendor partners to begin the production process. The goal was to present a clear, cohesive picture of the concept, all the pieces designed—hats, T-shirts, towels, extensive custom type and patterning.
